Breakthrough on cinema access as first subtitled 3D film shows
NDCS has welcomed news that, for the first time, deaf children and young people will be able to enjoy a 3D film, Disney's A Christmas Carol, with subtitles at the cinema.
In a statement, NDCS said, 'The National Deaf Children’s Society believes that every deaf child has the right to the same opportunities as their hearing friends, and this includes being able to enjoy films at the cinema with subtitles. It is great news that deaf children and young people will now be able to enjoy 3D films with subtitles and we thank all those involved for this achievement.'
NDCS will now be looking to see access to all 3D films in the future, as well as continuing progress on access to all films at the cinema at convenient times for deaf children and young people.
Details of where the film is showing with subtitles can be found at Yourlocalcinema.com
Don't forget to pick up your 3D specs before you go in!

I think all movie theaters should find a way for deaf to go to the movies. I love going and have not been able to. I have CI and still am not able to hear at movies. We should have have same choices as hearing people.
