Little Miss Sunshine meets The Miracle Worker

Abigail Breslin.jpg Helen Keller is to be revived on Broadway next year, in a stage version of The Miracle Worker.

Keller will be played by 12yr old Abigail Breslin, who is best known for her role in independent sleeper hit Little Miss Sunshine.

What do you think? Should it be a deaf blind actress, or just a good actress playing the part? Have your say here, or join the discussion at the BBC's See Hear.

Best known for Little Miss Sunshine? Humph.

How about Signs? Or Zombieland?

I haven't even seen Nim's Island, but I heard it wasn't that great.

No, not a strong actress. she was good in little miss sunshine, but no i highly doubt she can pull it off. she's way to... polite.

Incredible. www.thedeafblog.co.uk is killer.

Abigail Breslin looks older than 12 -- When
Annie Sullivan & Helen Keller had their communications breakthrough, little Helen was actually only 6. Every production I've seen pretends her age was 12 because it's prectically impossible to find an actress who can appear to be 6 - 11 yrs of age and at the same time meet the demands of the role.

As for a deaf and blind actress to play Helen, if I were casting the show, I'd love to see a disabled person nailing the role. Not knowing very many deaf people and blind people, I imagine a person doubly disabled can't fulfill the strenuous physical requirements.

This is is just an uneducated guess on my part, so pls DJDMT.

I watched my sisters keepers amost 20 times and everytime Miss Abigail is perfect!! I little Abby can do with Faith and God, together it will come togeher for you sweetie. I have a son the same age as you and we look up to you. I was only a teen when I had him and I have raised him with God and Faith. I hope you read this and know you have our family as your #1 support team! With much Love The Wade family in Texas xoxoxoxoxoxo
