Isle of Wright Job Centre Plus receives charter mark for deaf awareness

A Job Centre Plus in the Isle of Wright has achieved the Royal National Institute for the Deaf’s (RNID) ‘Louder than Words’ charter mark.

The Job Centre has done this through a continued commitment to providing deaf and hard-of-hearing people greater accessibility to work and all its services.

The 'Louder than Words’ charter is intended for businesses that offer a high-level of deaf services for staff and customers.

The RNID created the charter to offer equal opportunities to the nine million people in the UK that are deaf or hard of hearing.

Wendy Phillips, advisory services manager at Newport Job Centre Plus, is proud of the achievement and believes it has lead to an improved service to both hearing and deaf customers.
