19-year old Marume scoops Miss Deaf 2009
Zimbabwe has held its first ever Miss Deaf Zimbabwe Pageant, with 15 ladies taking part.
The event, taking place for the first time in the country was held in preparation for the Miss Deaf World 2009 Beauty Pageant to be held in the Czech Republic.
Founder and organiser of the pageant, Madeline Yohane, said the passion she has for people with disabilities has made it possible for her to come up with such a beauty pageant.
19 year-old Biebit Marume was crowned Miss Deaf Zimbabwe 2009 and will represent the country at the Miss Deaf World Pageant, to be held in the Czech Republic at the beginning of July.
