'Knowing' sign language

knowing-nicolas-cage.jpg The new Nicolas Cage film Knowing opened in UK cinemas this week, and features a hearing impaired character called Caleb – played by Chandler Canterbury.

‘You, me, together forever,’ was signed three times between Caleb and his father, Professor Koestler (Nicolas Cage). The scene has also been featured in the thriller’s preview trailer.

Sign language is shown again between Caleb and Lucinda when they meet in the museum, as it's something they have in common.

Caleb has a hearing aid, but doesn’t like wearing it due to static interferences from unknown sources. It’s apparent that his character is not infact deaf, but just has difficulty filtering sounds.
