Beyond Boundaries: Where are they now?
Remember Beyond Boundaries? The BBC2 programme ran for three series between 2005 and 2008, and involved physically disabled young people crossing Nicaragua, Africa and the Andes, respectively.
They pushed themselves to the limits of endurance as they climbed mountains, trekked through jungles and kayaked down rivers. And last night team members returned for a documentary about their experience, which showed what they’re up to now.
The programme, which can be seen again here*, is the first of two parts. The next part will be shown in two weeks, on Sunday 5 April.
Yesterday’s programme concentrated on the crew from series one, while the subsequent programme will meet participants from series two and three, including (we hope), Jeremy Millensted, who is profoundly deaf and has a cochlear implant. Jeremy (whose story you can read here), had explained that the trip was ‘really hard.’ But that he went on the expedition in order to ‘help hearing people understand what it is like to be deaf.’
