NDCS wants your views on the children's workforce

The National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) has prepared a draft response to a Government consultation on the Children and Young People's Workforce Strategy, and wants to know what you think!

The draft response calls on the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) to make sure that the children and young people's workforce is able to meet the needs of deaf children.

The NDCS makes specific recommendations to DCSF to do more to help mainstream teachers and staff who work in a specialist role. These roles include:

- Teachers of deaf children
- Communication support workers
- Speech and langauge therapists
- Special educational needs co-ordinators, and
- Social workers for deaf children.

Read the NDCS's draft response and have your say here.
