Deaf friendly football coaching

In an initiative being run by the National Deaf Children’s Society to open up football to deaf children, Charlton FC championship footballers are helping deaf children by appearing in a DVD showing how they should be coached.
This DVD was commissioned by the Deaf Friendly Football Club Project and has been approved by the FA to help make football fun and accessible to deaf children.

It will be distributed to football coaches across the country.
In the 35-minute DVD, there are examples of how deaf young people with hearing difficulties manage to play football as well as interviews with coaches who have learnt how to use sign language to communicate football terminology.

To receive a free copy of the DVD, email football@ndcs.org.uk
