Unmet needs of deaf in Dumfries
On Monday 25 June Andy Irvine, who is himself deaf, will explain the results of his six-month investigation into the needs of deaf and deaf-blind people in Dumfries and Galloway.
Funded by The Lottery, The Rotary Club of Dumfries, Shasun, The Hugh Fraser Foundation and Dumfries and Galloway Council, the aim of Mr Irvine's research was to identify the unmet needs for deaf and deaf-blind people, and to recommend how these might be met so that charities can target their help better.
The meeting, which will take place in the Council Chamber, Buccleuch Street, Dumfries, starts at 7pm with a welcome and introduction by Elaine Murray, MSP for Dumfries and Galloway, who has worked for many years with deaf constituents using cross-border co-operation with Cumbria Deaf Association.
