Deaf footballers to represent Great Britain

Six deaf footballers from Doncaster are hoping for international success after being called up to represent Great Britain.

Doncaster College for the Deaf's Taljinder Singh, John Atkinson, Chris Naylor, Daniel Hogan, Peter Wood and Alistair Dalziel are set to play for Britain on Sunday against Sheffield FC. And, with the match being used as preparation for the 2007 European Deaf Football Championships, the talented half dozen will be looking to impress national bosses before next summer's tournament.

Alan Robinson, Principal of Doncaster College for the Deaf, said: "Our football team is extremely successful and we are very proud of all of the hard work and effort the players put into their performances. Sport is a key part of life at the College and we wish them the best of luck."
