Deaf comedian to perform in Peterborough

On Friday, deaf comedian John Smith will perform at Peterborough Central Library, in Broadway. John will be using material he has developed from his experiences of being deaf in a hearing world and the use of British Sign Language will also be explored within the act.

The show, which has been given the title Beautiful BSL Comedian, takes place at 7pm. Tickets cost £10 and are bookable via text message to 07932 225818, or by e-mailing hipas8@yahoo.com

John Smith is a profoundly Deaf BSL user. Following on from his hugely successful, first stand up appearance late in 2005, John has moved into bigger and bigger audiences, entertaining in Deaf clubs and theatres countrywide.Using his experiences of growing up Deaf in a hearing world John brings his observations to life, engaging his audience in hours of laughter and reflection. Covering topics such as Current Deaf issues, Deaf politics and School life, John offers an amusing and fascinating insight into being Deaf and the world of British Sign Language.
