Sign language dance routines are internet hit

A series of pop music videos for deaf people posted on the top video-sharing website YouTube have shot an unemployed ex-roofer to internet fame.

43-year-old Tyrone Whittle started performing his sign-language dance routines after a life-long interest in using movement to communicate and in a bid to impress his former partner.

He now has a repertoire of dances in which he signs the lyrics for hit songs by bands such as Oasis, the Arctic Monkeys and the Smiths.
