Get fit for the RNID Great North Run
The RNID is calling on people to get a head start in the race for a guaranteed place at this year’s Great North Run by signing up for the charity’s running team. The places in RNID’s Great North Run team are available on a first come, first served, basis to prospective fundraisers who pay a £38 registration fee and pledge to raise a minimum of £300 for the charity.
Participants need to be reasonably fit already, or be confident that they can get fit by Sunday 30 September 2007 when the 13.1 mile run between Newcastle and South Shields takes place.
Caroline Jupe, RNID Events & Community Fundraising Executive, says: "You can secure a guaranteed place at the Great North Run by getting off your marks quickly to sign up for RNID’s team! Not only will you have the chance to run over the Tyne Bridge and past other Newcastle landmarks, but you’ll be raising vital funds to help change the world for deaf and hard of hearing people too."
Money raised by RNID runners at the Great North Run will help fund a range of projects and services that improve the everyday lives of deaf and hard of hearing people.
