Interview with Liz Ball, a deaf-blind charity worker
Liz Ball was born partially sighted but lost her sight completely by the age of ten. She then lost her hearing in just three weeks when she was 26.
Liz describes herself as an optimist who likes good home-made hearty soups. She works for the deaf-blind charity Sense as parliamentary campaigns officer.
Liz would like to raise awareness of the fact that deaf-blind people can demand an interpreter when speaking to their MP, that a red and white cane means the person using it is deaf-blid, and that their attention is best got by touching their shoulder.
