Deaf teenagers shortlisted in mini oscars

A film produced by a group of deaf teenagers from Belfast has been shortlisted in the Mini Oscars.

The filmmakers, aged between 13 and 18, made the film using £4,000 of National Lottery funding through a First Light Movies Pilot Award.

The horror movie - Lil' Red - has been nominated in the Best Horror category of the First Light Movies Awards 2007. The nominations will be judged by Hollywood actress Kate Winslet and director Alan Parker before the awards are announced next month.
