Daily Express attacks lack of bilateral CI funding

The parents of a deaf toddler have spoken out against Manchester Primary Care Trust's decision to only fund one cochlear implant for their daughter Aminah.

Mother-of-three Alia said: "We are very angry because we feel that the Government does not do enough for deaf children. If a physically disabled boy needed a wheelchair he would instantly get one - and not one with one wheel. yet the NHS can only give Aminah one implant for two ears".

See page 27 of today's Daily Express for more details.
