My work experience at the Cochlear Technology Centre

MichaelBatt.jpg

Hello everyone, I’m Michael Batt, a cochlear implant user of 17 years. I am in my final year of studying Design and Technology for Industry at Manchester Metropolitan University in Cheshire and I felt I had to do some work experience in the summer to make my CV stand out when applying for jobs.

I went to the Cochlear Technology Centre in Belgium. Here is the fifth week of the diary I kept…

Week Five
Towards the end of the week we sent my drawing files to a manufacturer and ordered the others parts that I had obtained quotations for on the internet. It was particularly difficult as they wrote emails to me in Dutch!! Later in the week we celebrated my 21st at Bas’s house and I enjoyed tasting his special dish - Falafel I also received a bottle of champagne from the Ear Foundation which was lovely.
