My work experience at the Cochlear Technology Centre

MichaelBatt.jpg

Hello everyone, I’m Michael Batt, a cochlear implant user of 17 years. I am in my final year of studying Design and Technology for Industry at Manchester Metropolitan University in Cheshire and I felt I had to do some work experience in the summer to make my CV stand out when applying for jobs.

I went to the Cochlear Technology Centre in Belgium. Here is the third week of the diary I kept…

Week Three
A very quiet week. I am slowly progressing with my work on the fixture, I sat in the sun a few times and got to know the B&B lady very well and I played football with her dog on a few occasions! The loneliness has now long gone as I’m made very welcome at the B&B and at work. The funny part of the week was one evening I was reading my book and there was a knock at the door and Reintje had a ladder and a sweeping brush and asked if she could get onto the roof through my window!!! I had to even hold the ladder and I found it unusual she swept the roof!
