My work experience at the Cochlear Technology Centre

MichaelBatt.jpg

Hello everyone, I’m Michael Batt, a cochlear implant user of 17 years. I am in my final year of studying Design and Technology for Industry at Manchester Metropolitan University in Cheshire and I felt I had to do some work experience in the summer to make my CV stand out when applying for jobs.

I went to the Cochlear Technology Centre in Belgium. Here is the second week of the diary I kept…

Week Two
Back at work I focused on the problem I had to solve, a fixture to hold the new device - I felt it was a very hard to task to do however I got stuck in! I was also introduced to the various departments and I found the work they do there very interesting.

I decided to be a tourist at the weekend so I went up the tower of Mechelen, without thinking that my balance would be a problem... I clung onto the hand rail in the spiral staircase for my life! But it was worth it just to see the fantastic views of the town and the surrounding areas, I appreciated the beauty of the town!
