Hearing dogs in demand

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is looking for dogs to become the ears of a deaf adult, so that deaf people can live more independently. Hearing dogs are trained to alert their owners to everyday household sounds by touching with a paw and leading the person to the source of the sound.

The charity is particularly interested in dogs with a friendly nature aged between eight months and three years. Anyone who has a dog they believe might be suitable should call the Puppy Socialising Department on 01844 348105.
