Skydiving dad raises funds for RNID

Steven Goodwin from Peterborough, has a 50% hearing deficiency in both ears and needs to wear hearing aids constantly. Despite his hearing problems, the married father-of-two manages the Showcase Cinema in Boongate and is now fundraising for other hearing-impaired people.

Steven recently spotted an advertisement in The Evening Telegraph, looking for volunteers to complete a terrifying skydive in aid of the Royal National Institute for the Deaf.

He said: "I know people that the charity has helped, so it's quite close to my heart. I've got to raise £375 minimum and I have already collected just over £200 from my employees. I always thought people hated the boss - but obviously not when he is about to jump out of a plane!"
