Look out for Deaf Awareness Week

Deaf Awareness Week

This year's Deaf Awareness Week is being held on 1st to 7th May. Organisations around the country who work with deaf people are inviting everyone to 'Look at Me'. The theme of this aims to improve understanding of the different types of deafness there are as well as to highlight all the different ways of communication used by deaf, deafened, deafblind and hard of hearing people - like sign language and lipreading.

There are all sorts of events planned, so whether you're from an organisation or are an individual and want to get involved, take a look at this link for what's happening in your area.
