Exploring Deaf issues in 'Milan'

An event exploring how Deaf issues are expressed in Nick Sturley's fantasy epic novel 'Milan' will be held in Chelmsford on 18th March.

The novel is based on the infamous Milan 1880 conference, that effectively outlawed sign language teaching. The story begins with an unknown force, calling itself MILAN, inexplicably transforming the entire British Deaf people into hearing people.

The event will be presented in sign language with spoken interpretation.
